a) The Communications Director is responsible for all public-facing messages from the BCGOP. This includes press releases, newsletters, email updates, advertising, brochures, website content, and any other materials which are disseminated with the BCGOP name and logo. The Communications Director oversees and takes responsibility for any volunteers contributing to the above communications, including photographers, writers, and graphic designers.b) The Communications Director must be comfortable using email, word processing, blogs, evite, online communities such as facebook, online email newsletter services such as Constant Contact. Basic HTML knowledge is very helpful but not required. A passion for latest technology and communication trends is highly advantageous.

c) The Communications Director is an official member of the BCGOP Executive Committee and Central Committee and must attend meetings in order to stay current on all latest news, official club events, and other information that may be shared with the public.

d) The Communications Director must attend meetings and maintain close communications with Republican candidates in Buncombe County in order to have a solid understanding of candidate positions and platforms as well as to keep track of candidate events for dissemination to the public via our website and email newsletter.

e) The Communications Director must have email and telephone, both of which are checked regularly in the event that the media, candidates, clubs, or others have an immediate need to get or disseminate information. On days when press releases are sent out, email and phone must be checked hourly.

f) You are expected to contribute in cash or make in-kind contributions to the Buncombe County Republican Party each year.
